Gun's or pepper spray for cops

Every year hundreds of armed cops are shot, knifed or injured and even killed by a variety of methods. They were all armed with a gun.
POLICE TRAINING FILMS SHOW THAT IF AN ATTACKER IS ARMED WITH A KNIFE AND BEGINS AN ATTACK FROM 20 FEET AWAY THE ATTACKER CAN EFFECTIVELY PUT A KNIFE IN YOUR CHEST BEFORE YOU CAN DRAW AND EFFECTIVELY AIM YOUR GUN AND FIRE.

So how effective would a woman or an armed man be with an attacker who's even closer in some shopping center parking lot? Most people who carry concealed hand guns are not even close to being effective in using them. The best defense, like the trainer says, is to always be aware and extremely careful of where you are and where you're walking, etc.

I submit that the proper use of pepper spray in most cases will be far more effective than a handgun, and require far less paper work. Pepper spray can be in your shirt or blouse pocket and ready to go long before you could wield a hand gun. Walking with your hand on a pepper spray device in pants or jacket is very effective. For the home, always keep mace at every entrance, or wasp spray etc.

At night, a double barrel shotgun loaded with 00-buck and a legally cut off barrel to 18.5 inches is to my thinking the best defense weapon. Handguns for most are very ineffective in dark places. Never lock or unload your shotgun except for safety precautions if you have small children. A handgun with locks and or in a safe is only false security.
